A few items before the break...

Grade 7 Christmas luncheon
Thank you to the Grade 7 parents who went way above and beyond with the decorations, picture taking, luncheon, music/dance and clean up.  The students and I had a wonderful time.  You made us all feel very special!  Thank you. 

We had a terrific dress rehearsal for our Christmas Concerts on Monday Dec 13 (at 1:30 and 6:30).  Many Division One students have contributed hours of their time as set painters, audio and lighting personnel, set up and take down, crew greeters, narrators and with all the other jobs that make a performance run smoothly.  They are truly excellent role models for the younger students.

As we head into our last week before the break, a few reminders:
Monday:  Wear red or green tops, dark bottoms and shoes; optional silver or gold accessories
                Bring 250ml milk/cream container for our "gingerbread" house as well as candy for decorating
Tuesday:  Christmas writing project due
                Grade 7 and Grade 6 Math test
Wednesday:  Gingerbread house making with our KN buddies in the morning and our own houses in the afternoon
Thursday:  Grade 7 SS test on Early Man
                 Grade 6 group poster on Japan completed.
Students are making good use of the time between rehearsals to keep current on their studies and should need only a short review to prepare for the tests.  Students with questions should come in before school  so I can explain or clarify.

Upcoming Events - December 2010

With Christmas holidays just around the corner, Division One is very busy getting organized for the Christmas Concert, helping with their buddy classes and staying on top of their school work.

This week we'll be walking to SDSS on Wed. Dec 8 for a Music concert from 12:30-2:30 (leaving the school at 12:10) so students should dress for the weather.

Also on Dec 8 is an in-school curling session to prepare us for curling in the new year.  The permission form  and driver notice will be coming home soon.

Reminders:
Grade 7 Secret Santa presents to school by Tues. Dec 7
Small milk cartons and candy for the Gingerbread House activity (on Wed Dec 15) should come to the school by Mon Dec 13.   We'll be saving our cartons after the Hot Lunch on Fri Dec 10 but can always use extras.
Food Bank donations will be collected on Tues Dec 14

Christmas Concert - December 13, 2010

Division 1,

Just a reminder that our annual Christmas Concert is scheduled for December 13, 2010. We will have two performances on this date: one at 1:30 and one at 6:30. Parents and family members are invited to attend which ever time works best for them. Students, of course, are asked to attend both shows so that we can have two great performances.

Students have been practicing their songs for a few weeks now. Parents, please ask your children to share their song with you. It will help them with their practice and confidence :)

Terry Fox Run - September 30

We will be having our annual Terry Fox Run on September 30, 2010. We are looking forward to a great turnout.
